Tentative Opening Day Sunday May 1st
Lea Park Golf Club is pleased to announce the restorations to the course’s infrastructure are complete. Due to an abnormal year of heavy runoff, and the flooding of the Vermilion River, the golf course sustained a great deal of destruction and unforeseen challenges in 2020. Three of the four bridges were destroyed, culverts were washed out, and roads and cart paths were damaged. Working diligently throughout the summer and into the winter months the grounds were gradually restored.
First and foremost, thank you to the County of Vermilion River for their guidance and assistance in helping the Club acquire a grant of $50,000. Thank you to HHD Ltd, and Riverhill Enterprises from Marwayne for their countless hours of labor, commitment, and knowledge. Thank you to Rubber Rock Resources, GLM Electric (Grant Meiklejohn), Triharder Resources (Randy Edsvik) and the Lea Park Golf Club Board and all the dedicated volunteers for your enthusiasm and support.
We are keen to get going this year, hoping to open with all COVID-19 procedures in place. Our 9 Hole Course - Par Total 36 - 2033 Yards, with natural grass greens, watered fairways, cart rentals, and a clubhouse to enjoy refreshments will be ready to welcome our past and future golfers for an action-packed 2021 Season.
